Academic achievement
All ARK academies have high expectations for their pupils. We believe every child can realise their potential given the right encouragement, teaching and support and we want every pupil at the Redbridge academy to leave with the academic qualifications and skills they need to have real choice at 18, whether that’s to continue their education or to pursue a career.
We will do everything possible to ensure that every child achieves year level expectations, every year. We don’t accept excuses and we don’t make any either.
Our ethos - personal responsibility and mutual respect
All ARK academies have a respectful and orderly environment so that pupils can focus on learning and teachers on teaching. We believe that a successful education includes developing and nurturing the personal qualities of every pupil.
ARK philosophy is that small schools, where every teacher knows every child, create the conditions for focussed learning and strong pastoral care.
The academy at Redbridge will be divided into three small schools - two Key Stage 3 Schools (for pupils from years 7, 8 and 9) and a Key Stage 4&5 School for pupils from years 10, 11 and the sixth form). Each small school will have its own entrance and teaching space, although specialist facilities such as sport, ICT and music and drama will be shared by the whole academy.
Commitment
We expect all pupils, parents, teachers and support staff to sign a home-school agreement before each pupil starts at school, so that everyone is committed to putting in the effort to ensure that each child succeeds.
